I grew up in Northern Colorado near the Rocky Mountains and then I went on to graduate from Portland State University (Portland, Oregon) in 2019 with a B.A. in Criminology and Honors. I wrote and presented an honors thesis titled "Women and Corrections: A Review of Oregon Prisoners' Perspectives on Procedural Justice". I started my thesis journey working as a research assistant, coding surveys into a database, for a project called HerStory. When it became time to decide on a topic for my thesis, I decided to continue the research I had started a year prior but focusing primarily on procedural justice in Oregon.

Overall, my research interests are women prisoners (focusing on their experiences in relation to the criminal justice system) and labor trafficking - specifically trafficked farm workers and factory workers. These two are wildly different areas but I want to explore their experiences, whether it is a woman who was mistreated by the criminal justice system or a worker who was exploited into free labor.

Apart from all that, I enjoy playing tennis when I have free time, reading non-academic books to take a break from studying, and spending time with my friends, family, and cats.
