Hillary Douglas
I graduated from Benedictine College in 2012 with my Bachelor of Arts. I majored in Economics, International Studies, and Foreign Language. After moving several times and trying my hand at various odd jobs, I started working with refugees and immigrants through AmeriCorps. I’ve spent the last 5 years working with immigrant populations in different capacities and it opened my eyes to different experiences and cultures. It also made me question many aspects of society in America. This questioning grew into a desire to ask more questions and to better understand how groups of people work, which lead me to the field of sociology. I’m interested in inequality, immigrant experiences in the US, cultures, methodology, economics, sociolinguistics and many other topics.
