Amy Heath

Graduate Student
Biography

Originally, I am from outside of Chicago, Illinois. Ready for a change of scenery, I attended the University of Iowa for my undergraduate studies and graduated with a BA in Criminology and Spanish, as well as a minor in Latina/o/x Studies in 2021. My undergraduate social-psychological research experience in the Center for the Study of Group Processes inspired my interest to pursue a PhD in Sociology. My primary research interests include studying family systems and adolescent development and coping behaviors, and I am now the laboratory manager for the Center for the Study of Group Processes.

Before coming back to the University of Iowa for graduate school, I worked as a Legal Analyst in a financial services corporation for a few years. Beyond the program, you will most likely find me hanging out with my dog, drinking coffee, or knitting (albeit poorly).
