Jason Robey, PhD
Jason Robey is Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Iowa. His research examines the evolving relationships between punishment, crime, and social inequalities. Most of this research is focused on declining incarceration rates and reduced racial disparities in incarceration in the United States, as well as the causes of these declines and the implications for social inequalities. His research also examines cohort dynamics of crime and incarceration, disparities in criminal case processing by race and citizenship status, and military service as a turning point for recent generations.
Jason’s research has been published in Nature Human Behaviour, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, American Journal of Sociology, Demography, Criminology, Annual Review of Criminology, and other outlets.
