Alexandra Herron

Biography
Alexandra Herron is a third-year PhD student whose research focuses on the life course, qualitative methodology, digital sociology, and the sociology of emotions, with particular interest in college-aged populations and social psychological processes. Her most recent research uses a life course framework to examine how the COVID-19 pandemic, as a macro-level disruption, structured college students’ emotional experiences and transitions into adulthood. She earned her B.A. in Sociology (2020), B.S. in Psychology (2021), and M.A. in Sociology (2022) from Ohio University, and her M.A. in Sociology (2025) from the University of Iowa.
She currently serves as the departmental senator in Graduate Student Senate.
